On behalf of the academic community of the University of Pavia, the Rector Francesco Svelto expresses condolences and closeness to the populations affected by the devastating earthquake of 6 February and in particular to the Turkish and Syrian students and their families.

We have activated a fast-crowdfunding campaign whose objective is the purchase of medical and sanitary material and the financing of a mission in the areas devastated by the earthquake.

The mission, in which specialized medical personnel will take part, will ensure health care and the delivery of medical and sanitary material.

The extreme gravity of the situation requires us to launch a very rapid campaign, which will be active until April 30, to bring the necessary support as soon as possible to populations in difficulty.

We invite everyone to donate now to achieve this important goal.

BRIDGENET is the network of the University of Pavia to support populations in situations of serious crisis.

In Bridgenet’s list of purposes there are also many programs aimed at addressing the practical problems of welcoming foreign students and researchers who, together with their families, find
themselves in difficulty in their countries of origin.

Efforts are all aimed at making Bridgenet a permanent reference for UNIPV intended as a bridge to the university world in difficulty.

The network has already covered emergencies in Afghanistan, Ukraine and Iran. In the Campaign gallery you can view some of the actions already taken.
